Mike Allen is President and Founder of Crown Mortgage Company, located in the Chicago area. Crown Mortgage Company, established in 1975, is one of the Chicago area’s oldest and largest privately-owned residential mortgage bank. At Crown’s peak, Crown serviced $1.1 billion (14,000) residential loans. Additionally, Crown is one of the largest Veterans Administration mortgage lenders in Chicago.
Crown is an approved Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae seller/servicer, and was the largest FHA co-insurance lender in the United States. In addition, Crown Mortgage has been the largest FHA/VA lender in Chicago many times over its 45 year history and will be again!
Still doing its own FHA and Conventional appraisals, Crown was the first mortgage company to employ in-house FHA appraisers. In addition, Crown shortened the industry standard 60-day loan approval process to a 1-hour mortgage commitment and a 10-day closing. Accordingly, ICM Consultants recognized Crown as one of the ten best residential retail production companies in the United States.
Mike Allen is a graduate of Michigan State University School of Business and a graduate of Harvard University School of Business Owner/President program. Mike enlisted in the Marines in 1965. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, and received 3 Purple Hearts and achieved the rank of Sergeant.
